Riser Rated (CMR) Solid Cat6 Ethernet Cable 1000 Feet

Riser Rated (CMR) Solid Cat6 Ethernet Cable 1000 Feet

(SKU:160017)

The Cat 6 standard was first released in 2002 as part of the Telecommunications Industry Association’s TIA/EIA-568-B.2-1 document specification.  It is backwards compatible with the Cat 3, Cat 5 and Cat 5e cable standards, and as with Cat 5 and Cat 5e cabling, Cat 6 cables consist of four unshielded twisted pairs (UTP) of copper wire terminated by RJ45 connectors.  Cat-6 Ethernet cable is used as the cabling infrastructure for 10BASE-T (Ethernet), 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet, or GbE) and 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet, or 10 GbE) networks. The Cat 6 standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz.

An Overview of Cable Ratings

Cable Rating

Permitted Uses

CM (Communications rated)

In-wall rated; permitted in 1-2 family residential riser applications, or in riser with raceway/fireproof shaft (see above); not permitted in plenums.

CMP (Plenum Cables)

All in-wall, suitable for installation in ducts and plenums without the use of conduit. These cables are designed for fire, low-smoke and toxin resistances.

CMR (Communications Riser-rated)

All in-wall and riser applications; not permitted in plenums.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Cable Matters in-Wall Rated (CM) Cat6 Cable is above the Cat6 standard by supporting up to 550 MHz. It is suitable for 10Base-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T / 1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet).

Our Cat6 cables are made of 100% bare copper wire as opposed to copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire, therefore fully compliant with UL Code 444, which require pure bare copper wire in Cat6 communications cables. This high performance bulk cabling is perfect for your custom network installation projects. Our Cat6 patch and bulk cables are used by major data centers around the world.

CMR rating is defined for usage in vertical tray applications such as cable runs between floors through cable risers or in elevator shafts where it cannot be used for environmental air.
