Cable Matters 201060 / 201065 / 202031 / 202065 Stopped Working on macOS after Upgrading to 10.12 Sierra or 10.13 High Sierra

This article applies to Cable Matters model number 201060, 201065, 202065, and 202031 to solve the driver issue on macOS 10.12 Sierra and 10.13 High Sierra. We noticed that the the driver required for the serial cables to work may be disabled after users upgrade the OS. This is caused by the User-Approved Kernel Extension Loading, which should enhance system security, from preventing unknown sources extensions from loading into the kernel.

Technical Note from Apple

Unfortunately while wrapped in good intentions, in its current implementation, it may block 3rd-party macOS programs including the driver required by these serial cables from working. If you are experiencing this issue, please follow the steps below to solve the issue.

1. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General

2. Next to the warning message 'system software from developer was blocked from loading', there is a button to allow the driver from loading. Click it to enable the driver.

3. Reboot your Mac computer.

If this does not work after rebooting your Mac computer, please reinstall the driver again.
