Cable Matters Firmware Update Tool [Enable VRR on Windows OS]

This firmware update tool is used to enable the adapter's VRR functionality (G-Sync and Free-Sync) on Windows.

This firmware update tool applies to the following Cable Matters products:

• DisplayPort to 8K HDMI Adapter (102101)

• DisplayPort to 8K HDMI Cable (102103)

• Mini DisplayPort to 8K HDMI Adapter (101101)

• Mini DisplayPort to 8K HDMI Cable (101109)

Firmware Update Instructions

Note: To complete the firmware update, the Cable Matters adapter must be connected to the host and the monitor, with the monitor on and functioning.

1) Click Here to download the firmware update tool.

2) Unzip the 7.02.120_forVRR firmware update tool, open the folder, and right-click to run the VMMDPTool64.exe as administrator.. 

3) Select the FLASH interface, then click LOAD to FLASH. A window will pop up. Choose the firmware and click Open. The program will then begin the automatic flashing process.

4) When you see the Action complete message, it indicates that the flashing process is complete. Please unplug the adapter from the computer and reinsert it. The new program will now be active.

 Notes

1. This flashing tool is only compatible with Windows OS.
2. The VRR program may have some compatibility issues, such as screen flickering. If it is not suitable for your use, you can revert to the latest firmware version 7.02.126.
