Hard Drive Enclosure Firmware Upgrade Guide

Issue Fixed
This firmware update resolves intermittent hard drive detection/recognition issues when connecting the Cable Matters 201079 enclosure to Dell Latitude series laptops via USB-C.

This firmware update tool applies to the following Cable Matters products:

• 10Gbps Gen2 USB C Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5" SSD/HDD  (201079)

Firmware Update Instructions

Please ensure your enclose is connected to the computer during the update process.

1) Click Here to download the firmware update tool.

2) Unzip the downloaded file and run 'ASM105xMPTool.exe'

3) Connect your 201079 hard drive enclosure to the computer using a USB-A to USB-C cable

4) Click the key (lock) icon to enter the password, then input: asmedia

5) Click “FW Browser” to choose the target firmware (.bin) file  and click the start to begin the upgrade process.
